Procedure

MSA12X is a Dante compatible device. Even if you don't send an audio signal with a Dante connection, you can set up the beam configuration with Dante's network.
It is done via the network. Therefore, even in this case, it is necessary to set the IP settings of the PC and MSA12X.

1. Connect your PC and MSA12X to the network.

2. Set the IP setting of your PC to DHCP.

3. Start Dante Controller.

A. Confirm that MSA12X is displayed.
B. At this point, the MSA12X settings should be as follows.
i. IP address: 169.254.xxx.xxx
ii. Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0

4. Change the IP setting of the MSA12X to a Static IP address.
i. For clarity in this example, we selected IP address: 192.168.0.xxx (Example: 101, 102,…).  Other static IP addresses can be chosen.
ii. Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

The MSA12X may disappear from the Dante Controller screen each time you change the IP address. Even if it is displayed, you will not be able to assign a Dante subscription since the computer is not yet in the same new static IP range.

5. Change the IP address of your PC to 192.168.0.xxx and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.   For our example, the computer NIC address we selected is 192.168.0.10.  The last octet must be unique for every device connected to this network.

6. Launch ControlSpace Designer on your PC. The MSA12X device block is displayed in the project view.

Note: Please make sure that  "Dante Control" is enabled (which is the default setting for the most recent versions of ControlSpace Designer).  Please also make sure that "Endpoint Control" is enabled.  Both Dante Control and Endpoint Control settings are found in the System Drop Down Menu at the top center of ControlSpace Designer software.

If the connected MSA12X(s) do not appear, make sure the project network address is likewise a match  - in this example, the IP range we are using is 192.168.0.xxx. You can set the project network address by selecting Tools > Set Project Network Properties.

7. Double-click the MSA12X device block in the Project View tab to open the MSA12X control panel.

8. Change the input type to Analog
