Configuring a FreeSpace IZA 2120-HZ Amplifier for Dual Mono Operation with a single Bose ControlCenter CC-2 for Zone 1 and a fixed output without a user interface accessory for Zone 2. When using an IZA 2120-HZ amplifier this allow for 70V controller(s) to be used between the amplifier output and the loudspeaker(s).

Procedure

Setting up the FreeSpace IZA 2120-HZ amplifier for dual Dual Mono Operation with a single Bose ControlCenter CC-2 for Zone 1 and a fixed output for Zone 2 requires setting the IZA 2120-HZ REMOTE 1 CONTROL DIP switch to ZONE 1 and the A/B SELECT DIP switch to REMOTE.

Connect the CC-2 Volume Control with A/B switch  to the remote 1 input of the IZA 2120-HZ amplifier as illustrated below.

Connect a 10k Ohm (or greater) low power resistor for the volume control, inserted between the PWR and VOL terminals, on Zone 2.

Insert a wire jumper between the A/B connector of Remote 1 and the A/B connecter of Remote 2.

REMOTE 1 controls the level of Zone 1 and with the jumper in place, the source selection for both outputs.  ZONE 2 operates at a fixed level governed by the Zone 2 Output Trim Adjustment.

If the A/B jumper wire in the illustration below is not connected, ZONE 2 will default to amplifying Input Source B constantly.  If ZONE 2 is intended to amplify Input Source A constantly, install a jumper between the A/B pin of REMOTE 2 and the COM pin of REMOTE 2.

This configuration also works in reverse with a resistor applied to the REMOTE 1 terminals and a volume control with A/B switch user interface accessory on REMOTE 2.
